Il aura fallu attendre 54 ans pour que ce fameux bouclier revienne en pays Catalan et c'est avec fierté que les valeureux joueurs de l'Usap le promènent de ville en ville pour partager avec leurs fidèles supporters la joie d'être CHAMPIONS DE FRANCE...Lundi soir, c'est la ville de Sainte Marie La Mer qui accueillait le Bouclier de Brennus.
A l'invitation de nos amis Sabine et Jacques, nous avons assisté, en cette veille de 14 juillet, aux festivités.
Chaude ambiance devant la Mairie de Sainte Marie qui honorait son équipe de rugby des Cadets Champion de France UFOLEP entre autres sportifs de la commune et surtout 4 des joueurs de l'USAP avec le fameux "Planxot" (je ne suis pas sure de l'orthographe !).
Honneur au premier : Jean-Pierre Pérez qui est natif et domicilié à Sainte Marie.
Gavin Hume, le Sud-Africain, domicilié à Ste Marie depuis son arrivée à l'Usap, il y a cinq ans.
David Marty, originaire du village d'à côté, Villelongue de la Salanque, mais propriétaire d'un restaurant de plage à Ste Marie.
Et enfin, Jean-Philippe Grandclaude (au centre) qui fait construire sa villa à Ste Marie.
